Playa Taroa is about an hour's drive away from Punta Gallinas and I bet that all tours that arrive at Punta Galinas will include a trip to Taroa. The highlight is a 40 to 60 meter high dune that drops right into the Carribean sea. Beautiful place to hang around for a few hours, take pictures, have a swim.

the drive to the dunes is long, however is highly worthy to enjoy a 50 meter high dune with an inclination of around 45 degrees, that transforms itself into a virgin silky sandy beach washed by luke warm caribbean sea water. the wayu people of the region will drive you there, and will guide visitors around this unique place.
