Picture postcard sandy beach, inner lagoon protected by reef, must see if in Zanzibar. For backpackers excellent place to hang out and kite surf. For older a must visit (can combine with Jozani forest and mangrove and meal at the Rock)

The fine white sand is great on the toes. Easy walk into warm Indian Ocean. Soft waves with long swells. Waltched the kite sailers. Beach goes on for miles. With the tide, you can walk out far.

The place for kite surfing. Good on shore winds. Sandy lagoon. Food is good. Shame that some establishments are shoddy

A beautiful beach (I mean really, all beaches on Zanzibar are) with a lot going on around it. It's cool to go to, but if you're looking to go swimming or just laying on the beach, it isn't the best. The area and water is just super crowded with kite surfers and boats for things like diving. If you're looking to do either of those things, then that's the place for you.

I think this is one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been to. It is not crowdy, the water is very clean, the beach is long enouh.It is very interesting to watch how every day the ocean disappears because of the tides. I recommend to everybody to visit this beach

Paje beach is nice, but after seeing some other places on the island, it's definitely not the best. The tide is very low from late morning to evening and you can't really swim. There are many people trying to sell you everything from snorkeling trips to elephant statues, and it can get very annoying when you just want to be left in peace. There are a few nice places along the beach to eat or have a drink, and some beach chairs for soaking up a bit of sun. Definitely prefer the serenity of Michamvi any day, though!

The beach is excellent to walk along especially when the tide goes out and you can adventure onto all the sand-bars. Some locals trying to sell things but they were really friendly and easily took a polite no for an answer.We love to swim but the ocean is covered with kite surfers and when the tide comes in they come closer and unfortunately there isn't a lot of swimming room. Would be awesome if you are into kite-surfing which unfortunately we are not so it was a loss for us!

Please be aware of the tidal fluctuations....if people are not briefed, they can get very disappointed if they go when the tide is out! There are parts of the beach that are now quite congested, so opt for an area where it's still 'natural'.
