Boston Common is well located and on the trolley bus route. Squirrels everywhere and lots of other wildlife. A quiet and peaceful park located right in the centre of the city. Cheers Bar is across the road and also worth a visit.

Boston is already a less hectic city than most larger cities in the U.S. but the Boston Common green spaces is still worth the visit.

The Boston Common is neat in the same way as NYC's Central Park: it's nice to see so much greenery in the middle of the city. There's a beautiful view of the Massachusetts State House from here, and it borders on other tourist attractions like the Public Garden, the houses of Beacon Hill, and Cheers bar (the one that has the same exterior as the TV show.) A few trolley tours take off across the street. You'll find some souvenir vendors and hot dog carts, there's a busy skating rink in the winter, and sometimes there are some temporary installations (currently there are snow sculptures of characters from Frozen.) While I prefer the Public Garden, you should really see the Common on the way there. Plus there's history! The Common was originally left as a green pasture for Boston's inhabitants to let their cattle graze.

We were warned, Boston Common is now a cross between a drug zone and homeless haven. An unfortunate reality for most large cities but this iconic sight should be cleaned up.

Would have been nice but two groups of dodgy looking individuals made us feel uncomfortable. They should be moved on from this iconic location. Shame as it would be nice to sit out (in warmer weather). However, just passing through to elsewhere in the city it was pleasant.

Great place to walk around and sit and think. There is an ice skating rink open in the winter. Sometimes street performers.

I understand that this was originally a place to come and graze the cows, whose paths to and from define the tangled intertwining roadways, but those cows were right! This is a pastoral paradise in the middle of a class A city, looks like it sprang out of a Dickens novel, so lovely. And I love the events and exhibits so artfully placed at various times of the year. Gentle rolling hills for strolling and viewing the profile of lovely old grey stone and architecture.

We walked all over this town and made it here which was worth it. Loved seeing the skaters and then it started snowing, which made it even more picturesque. I felt like it was a mini-NYC with the buildings and parks and history.
