A beautiful building in perfect symmetry with it's surroundings situated, grandly, on the banks of the river Garonne. The modern pavement level fountain display adds to the experience; especially when producing a faint mist that drifts across the whole concourse. Bordeaux is a wonderfully majestic city perfect for a few days visit; and this probably represents the most iconic of sites within this city, Thoroughly recommend.

Place de la Bourse, originally known as the Place Royale, was built in the 17th century, as dedication to the glory of then King Louis XV (1729-1755). The city of Bordeaux at that time, was at the height of commercial boom. Located right on the banks of Garonne River, Place de la Bourse offers visitors the best of both views - that of the architectural genius that is the chain of buildings itself and of the beautiful river flowing just next to it. We came here in February and unfortunately, the weather at that time was rather gloomy, with occasional drizzle. However, that did not take away from the spectacular view laid out before us. There is definitely no bad angle here. Looking around you, it's quite easy to imagine how pompous it must have been during its heydey. I wish we had time to really explore the place but it's good to keep something pinned for a return trip, hopefully in summertime.

This was a highlight of my trip to Bordeaux. Early evening and it seemed everyone was out walking along the promenade. The pool was full of people all ages with their shoes off paddling in the water laughing talking and generally having a great time

The water feature that erupts every few minutes, turns what could have been a boring concrete pad,is simply stunning!Families with toddlers, women with their fluffy four legged friends, avid photographers, lovers are those who convene at this gorgeous spot looking for a bit of water action!The eruption of water every few minutes is almost accompanied simultaneously by gasps from tourists and squeals from the children. Cameras get frantically clicking and all is well. One of the best uses of a once- upon- a-time drab area of the Central Business District! Definitely a 'must see' !
