For a 130 CZK You will receive a big amount of fan and a bag of outstanding cars. The vehicles are in top condition and well described. Most of the Tatra trucks have stairs, so one can see the driver/passenger compartment. Well worth a visit

Tatra is an unique car/lorry manufacturer that really tried to do things differently. I spent a couple of hours here, it's allowed to take pictures. They have most of the cars produced on show, and a lot of prototypes - even the president car complete with accessories.Really loved it, just wished there been a cafeteria and also wished for a guided tour. This had to be booked and was more for a group.

Great collection of all types of vehicles incl. trains, lorries, airplanes etc. If you are around with the kids, this is a must see.

If you you have a love of motor vehicles then this is a must. The unfortunate thing that although an amazing museum, well laid out and signed in English as well as Czech it's in a town called Koprivnice. This is in the North of the Czech republic near Ostrava. We got there by train from Brno. Even this is not a direct route as you have to change at Studenka. I will go more into the logistics later. The museum is situated in Koprivnice as this was the home of the TATRA motor vehicle factory. The factory is still there but now only produces the TATRA marque lorries. The first vehicles were produced here back in the 1890's. It is one of the best laid out motor museums I have ever seen and if it were not for it's out of the way location would get many more visitor's. You can traverse the exhibits easily and there is good access for less able guests. As I have said the information about the vehicles is in English as well as other languages and is informative but concise. Greeting you as you enter is an old streamlined train, the Slovenska strela. The admission is 120 Czech crowns ( when we visited it was 32kcs to the pound) and is very reasonable for the quality of the museum. There is, of course a gift shop, but unless like me you are a Tatra freak there is probably not a lot for you. But having visited you may have become at least a fan. There is no cafe, or at least there is a bar on the first floor but this has nothing to do with the museum and does not open until 4pm! However, Koprinice is such a small place that all the local cafes are within easy reach. Going back to the transport. Studenka station is only small but when booking our tickets with Czech railways they only gave me 6mins to change. When arrived at the station on the train from Brno I could not see another train and there are only four platforms and no staff. We realised we had missed the connection and bought new tickets for the onward journey to be told that platform four was actually outside the station and looks more like an abandoned siding! The train is small two carriage job. The onward tickets only cost 58kcs for us both so it was no "biggie".

Ein wirklich tolles Museum, mit vielen alten Autos und Lastw?gen. Die Marke Tatar ist im westlichen Teil Europas eher weniger bekannt, im Osten eher mehr. Das Museum ist toll und modern aufgebaut. Vieles wird hier bestens erkl?rt. Empfehlung !
