This place is amazing. Located in the middle of Tuscany countryside, you can find a great selection of wine to taste and to buy. Plus a guided visit to their cellars. The staff is very kind and willing to explain everything about the wine you're tasting. Totally recommended!

On the recommendation of a L.A. wine merchant and corroboration via tripadvisor, our group of 3 couples arranged a wine tasting at Ciacci Piccolomini d"Aragona, near Montalcino in mid October 2014. We were also advised to schedule no more than two "formal" tastings in a day- which was good advice. The experience at Ciacci Piccolomini was totally wonderful. Since we had at least six in our party were were able to tour the original caves before driving to the more "modern" tasting room. The history which goes back 4 centuries, atmosphere, property, and setting were a great experience on their own, but adding in excellent Brunello wine made it memorable. At the tasting, the optional cheese and charcuterie plate (about 5 euro) greatly enhanced the tasting experience. We can't say enough good things about our guide, Lucrezia, who has great charm, knowledge, and passion for the estate and the wine, and great command of English. She really made the outing beyond excellent. We are Napa veterans and in that vein this is more organized than a "ma and pa" type of tasting (which we did later), but it is definitely aTuscan experience, and one could not go wrong visiting and drinking there. There is the lovely Sant'Antimo Abbey very close by to visit before or afterward.

We had a great trip to Italy, and this winery visit was one of the highlights. My local wine retailer recommended Ciacci as the best tour in Montalcino, and he was absolutely correct. Our guide, Lucrezia Messina, was extremely knowledgeable and delightful. We tasted six wines and cold cuts which were all excellent. If possible, you should visit with a party of at least six persons so you can include the historical winery on your tour as well as the modern one. Don't miss this one.

This was a fantastic vineyard to visit, the drive is stunning and the wine even more so. The staff were friendly and informative they certainly know their wine.

We booked visit. The girl showing us around was extremely knowledgeable. She explained the history of the cellar and then showed us all the production stages. At then end we had the opportunity to taste three wines (Nobile di Montalcino, Brunello and a reserve one). The cost was 15 euros per person

The best place we went in Italy for wine tasting. Passionate and well-educated staff. Great wines and great service and knowledge.

Loved this story of how the winemaker ended up as the heir to this historical estate. His son and daughter appear to be doing an awesome job establishing this as a dominant Brunello. Great facilities and eye-opening tour was topped by some very good wine. Looking forward to having some more when we get back to the states.

My best ever vineyard experience. Thanks to the very friendly and knowledgeable Lucrezia we enjoyed a fantastic wine tasting with some of the best Montalcino wines and Olive Oils this region has to offer. The "Cantina" is is pristine condition, the wines are exceptional and every member made us feel home and appreciated. A big thank you also to Paolo Bianchini who shared his passion for wine and cycling with us. See you again next year, arrivederci!

We traveled from Montepulciano to Montalcino in order to taste some world class Brunello. The tasting experience at Ciacci Piccolomini was exceptional. Exceptional for many reasons. (1) The wine was very good. (2) The tasting rooms was gorgeous. (3) The tasting expert running the show was passionate about their product and made sure we were comfortable. (4) We were in desperate need of eating something as they had a reasonably priced meat & cheese platter that hit the spot. This was a great stop before our trip back to Montepulciano as we would recommend a visit if in the area. The olive oil and honey are also very tasty as we ended up buying some for the remainder of our vacation.

Our private tour began in the old wine cellar of the historical home in the village. The extremely knowledgeable Nicoletta told us all about the of the background of the family and the wine and how the wine cellar is still used but reserved for their BEST grapes. Then we drove to the modern facility for a tour of the winery and the actual tasting. We had so much fun trying the different selections, with Nicoletta explaining each one. There were six of us in our group and she took her time answering all of our questions. We were never rushed. We had a great time and purchased some excellent wine to be savored in the years to come.

Lovely Nicoletta helped us arrange a tour & tasting event for a group of about 35, the staff went above and beyond, setup a beautiful outdoor area for us, with tasty aperitivo and fantastic selection of wine! This was a post wedding event which also included a couple of birthdays... We will cherish the memory for years to come and intend to become a regular there... Will order some to ship and hopefully go back to Italy every year! (we live in the states)
