there is no escaping this square when you are visiting Thessaloniki. It is perfectly located, huge and busy teeming with life. You have to go and have a coffee and/or buy sweets or bougatsa otherwise it is like going to Rome and not seeing the Vatican.

Its hard not to visit this square as you walk around the city, it is always busy with the lively cafe's and bars that even in the winter months serve outdoors and make the square a lively place to pass an hour or two. Surrounded by beautiful architecture take a minute or two to look skywards and wonder at the magnificent buildings surrounding the square. We visited in the Winter but one imagines in the Summer the could be street artist and the square would be even more attractive!!If by chance you do miss it back track it really is worth having a sit on the seats there!!

It's a statue and a square. My kids got a photo with it. I wouldn't go out of my way but we happened upon it.

It's great to walk through the city and feel safe . The historic center of Thessaloniki with the ladadika is gorgeous. Aristotelous Square with the old beach shall be to walk and drink from coffee to wine watching the sunset and the evening for a drink .. !!Wonderful and hospitable people , very nice coffee bars and restaurants ... !!!

This is the true centre of the city in Italian architecture and stretches from the (paralia) sea promenade all the way up through the centre of the city. A mixture of shops, cafes, bars - it has something for everyone - young and old.It is most lively done towards the sea with any number of cafes where you can bask outside even in the February sun. It is a hub of activity day and night with the shoppers being replaced by restaurant and bar/cafe visitors in the afternoon and the evening. The famous Olympion CInema is down at the bottom of the square and is the home of the increasingly internationally popular Thessaloniki Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival.From here you are a short way along Ermou to the central fruit, vegetable and meat market which sweeps you away to some oriental destination with th eopen stalls and the countless herbs and spices and the owners trying to shout each other down. Go late on a Saturday - but before 3 p.m. as they reduce the prices of fish, seafood - prawns?? - to get rid of them before the weekend.

This place is very nice in the city centar. There are a lot place for food and coffee all around. Easily you can reach all main streets and shops by foot from this squere.,

The further you go away from the water, the Square is not as lovely. There are some unsavory people and too much graffiti. One can only hope .with the new Greek government, that the area will get cleaned up.

It is the talk of town ,everybody meets here! Travellers from the nearby hotels ,businessmen for a quick coffee or light lunch in one of many restaurants in the area ,photographers for a unique shot of the sea in one side or the ancient city castle over the hill in the other.Just go to the roof garden of electra hotel in the square take a hot chocolate or a glass of wine and let your eyes rest in the wide blue of the sea infront of you!!
